Nigel de Jong dropped for tackling too hard

It was a strong challenge, I know, but for Nigel de Jong to be dropped from the Holland national team as a result of a tackle which he clearly won the ball in is a disgrace.In case you haven't heard already,Bayern Munich Euro 2012 Shirts, the Manchester City midfielder has been dropped from Bert van Marwijk's Dutch squad for their upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers following Sunday's much talked about tackle which left Newcastle's Hatem Ben Arfa with a broken left leg.'I've seen the pictures back. It was a wild and unnecessary offence.' said the Dutch manager Van Marwijk. 'He went in much too hard. It is unfortunate, especially since he does not need to do it.''The funny thing is that the referee did not even show a yellow card for it. Apparently, there are other standards. But I have a problem with the way Nigel needlessly looks to push the limit. I am going to speak to him.'I must say, De Jong is, without doubt,South Africa football shirt, one of my favourite footballers in the Premier League and I personally believe he is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. The former Hamburg midfielder is a tough tackler and it is that quality which has made him a firm fan favourite around Eastlands.He likes a good tackle and to see him dropped from his country's international squad is a real shame.As always, we would love to hear what you have to say on the matter.
